I really enjoyed books 1-3 and was anxiously awaiting this one and it did NOT disappoint! Mila has built such an incredible mafia world that flows seamlessly from book to book. It was so fun to see the whole cast of characters from previous books and see how they all interact with each other.

Not only is her character growth beautifully penned, but Giana did the impossible- she didn’t just help me understand Elena, she made me fall madly in love with her. She reinvented her in a way that feels both recognizable and newly born - and I have never rooted for any Giana heroine harder than I did for Elena. Her inner strength, her heartfelt courage, her tenacity and new found fire- watching her unleash her true self because of the safety and unwavering love of her capo, seeing her open up her whole heart? Overly obstinate, spitfire just to be spitfire heroines are not my jam- and I just knew that Gia would be MORE than a handful as a heroine. And Enzo- well he’s the villain. Sure, I had some empathy for him in book 2 as he was tortured and humliated, but his enemies were my dearest couple, and Enzo had been very naughty trying to take on my daddy Fausto. But there was a real spark of humanity that mattered- Mila intentionally giving us a glimpse into him to warm us to him as a leading man. But still, could I root for and adore this man? Especially when the romantic element in this story was shaping up to be a bit darker than the one before? If you've read Mafia Mistress/Darling you know that this author writes bonkers plots with an unhinged feral joy that I find addicting. Mafia Madman is no different. There aren't any redemption arcs here and no perfect characters. Enzo is psycho when the book begins and he's a psycho but just in love when the book ends. The war between Fausto and Enzo is still on and there was no real resolution to that but it also made sense. I would have hated for them to suddenly become Mafia bros. There is no tying everything up with a perfect bow. But the end was still oh so satisfying. The steam is steamy. There's consensual nonconsent, rough sex, praise kink, humiliation kink, and probably a few other kinks I'm spacing on. There's a lot of violence and a Mike Tyson moment 👂(iykyk) that was so bananas I couldn't stop laughing. This is definitely not for the faint of heart or those with pearls they like to clutch. But for anyone who wants to take a chance, it's a sexy, wild ride with an irredeemable villain and some quality smut. Even though I enjoyed myself immensely reading this book, I would have liked to see more relationship development and more tender moments where she anchors him. The suspense and intrigue was constant, the angst penetrating, the fire in Dante's eyes scalding, just everything made this book unstoppable! I could not put it down!!

Their chemistry from the beginning was undeniable and simply off! the! charts! I also planned to ask Nic for a laptop so I could do my own digging. But I also didn’t want to leave Giulio’s side." the story kept moving at a wonderful pace where i never truly got bored. the spice never felt repetitive to me even though there was SO much of it making up the book. seeing how the MC's grow from enemies in a forced captor/captive situation to slowly realizing they actually have feelings for each other was just.. UGH SO MUCH ANGST MAAN, esp with the third act conflict. We continued to run, neither of us speaking. I preferred the silence, though I was keenly aware of his presence, of his exhales and heavy steps."Giulio’s friend Theo who is a famous designer and his love interest Nic, who is a Russian Pakham, are supposed to get their own novella, and I will definitely read it. Dante is my new book boyfriend. He is 100% all alpha male, morally gray, and possessive, but is also genuine, caring, and protective. The way that he is with Elena just makes me swoon🖤❤️🖤.

And Gia, well Mila gives her more substance than the one dimensional spitfire heroine we sometimes get in mafia stories. Oh she’s stubborn, willful, a fighter true and true who doesn’t know when to keep her mouth closed. BUT, she’s also cunning, clever, compassionate and caring. She’s got layers and dynamics that make her interesting as a heroine, a balance of strength and softness, of emotive expression and stoic resolve. Mafia Madman is the 3rd book in the Kings of Italy series and my favorite in the series so far! Not only does the villain get his story, but the chemistry in this one is amazing! Both the hero and the heroine of this book we met in the first 2 books of the series, as well as all the side characters. DANTE. MY GOD THIS MAN. Is there anyone who loves as profoundly as he does? This man is the epitome of dark romantic heroism - a man whose beautiful proclamations of love rival master poets’ in their romanticism, but a man who also delivers blood cold vengeance as a gift. SWOON- I’m so in love with this man and the way he loves Elena- the devotion, how he champions her and lifts her up. He’s the perfect encapsulation of what makes Giana Darling heroes so interesting and compelling- the way she writes broken, twisted, ruthless, hardened, and violent men infused with such emotional intensity and sincerity of heart. Dante is strong, powerful, truly unstoppable as a mafia force, but as a man, Giana gives him emotional complexity, vulnerability- she makes him a man who cares about family, oozes humanity, a man with a deep and profound desire to love deeply and unequivocally. It's an intoxicating mix- the swooniest capo you’ll ever read. The contrasts are perfectly crafted- his sweetness with violence, his resolute strength with tenderness, alpha possession with emotional availability. The “you do not need your armor...I will be your sword”- BE STILL MY HEART- I’m ruined for all other men. I have read Mafia before and it is always intense with torture and illegal dealings but I wasn't aware of how hot that gets when you add this into their chemistry. Mafia Darling” is the second novel in the “Kings of Italy” series and was released in the year 2022. Loyalty is everything in Fausto’s world. He should not have allowed Francesca to get so close to him, or let her get under his skin. However that does not mean that he is going to allow somebody else take her away from him. He will pay with his very life, because there is nothing that will keep him from reclaiming what he lost. Francesca belongs to him and he’s keeping her.

Readers found they were entertained and invested the entire way through, and liked seeing Francesca attempt to fight against becoming a mafia wife since her mom detested that role herself and never wanted that for any of her daughters. Fausto starts out a major asshole, but does have a nice redemption arc over the course of this novel, particularly around Giullo, his son. Now a new man is stalking me, watching me. But there's something else in his eyes, a hunger that sets me on fire. He's rough and dangerous, all the things I crave in the dark. In my world, loyalty is everything. I shouldn’t have let her get close. I shouldn’t have let her get under my skin. Can Mila Finelli top the boinking in a cage unhinged energy of Mafia Madman? Yes, yes she can. Mafia Target is an equally wild and steamy but oh-so-romantic ride and I am OBSESSED with Giulessio.
